All chic and elegance,Day 2 at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 focussed on technique and styling. Film stylist Pernia Qureshis debut show,An Evening in Paris, captured understated glamour from the 20s and the 60s with drop-waist and knee-length dresses and cigarette pants. Nimish Shah played with layering as he paired jackets, sweaters and shawls with retro skirt suits. Payal Khandwala stayed away from embroidery but used long kurtis, baggy trousers and shrugs in burnt orange and charcoal for a collection inspired by sadhus and samurais. For her collection of jumpsuits, trousers and shirts,Roma Narsinghani used pleating, paneling and draping while shell buttons and sequins embellished the garments. Though Komal Soods collection was marked by an overdose of bling,it was her showstopper Siddharth Mallya who shone the brightest.
