Anchors away
Recently,the Golmaal Returns twosome Tusshar Kapoor and Celina Jaitley got together to unveil three fresh faces that will soon be seen anchoring brand-new shows on Zing,the channel formerly known as Zee Music. The last episode of the Cornetto Anchor Hunt,sees Tusshar and Celina bringing the house down with their crackling chemistry and impeccable comic timing. The winners include Bangalore babe Sangeetha Raj,Delhi girl Sameera Khan and Mumbai’s very own Noorin Sha. Here’s hoping that the new breed of anchor girls lights up telly screens with their bubbly chatter but not so much that they forget the play the music.

Humble origins
THE origins of Mithun Chakraborty’s popular character Krishnan Iyer MA from the movie Agneepath was recently revealed by the actor himself. It all started with Jai Kumar Nair’s last performance on Dance India Dance — before the finale in which he played the role made famous by Mithunda. The actor was touched by Jai’s performance. It reminded him of his days as a struggler when he lived as a paying guest in Koliwada. His roommate in those days was a Malayali and Mithunda based a large part of his character on his roomie. Mithunda even recounted an incident from the days when he couldn’t afford a bed and was bitten by a rat while sleeping on the floor of his PG accommodation. He lay down on his roomie’s bed,but unfortunately got yelled at by the latter. The Malayali-accented expletives that he hurled at Mithunda made their way into the latter’s dialogues for the movie.
