With the Gurgaon police filing the chargesheet in the BMW hit-and-run case,the family members of those killed in the accident said the process of justice has finally started.
The chargesheet filed by police on Wednesday named Suraj Sehrawat as the main accused and said he was driving the car at the time of the accident. Police have also booked Suraj for not carrying his driving licence at the time of the accident.
A Gurgaon court had earlier granted bail to Sehrawat.
Sanjay Gulati (42) and Kshama Chopra (30),who was pregnant,were killed in the accident,which took place on May 5.
Kshamas husband Shailesh Shetye told Newsline: I will do everything to get justice for my wife. Although it has been three-and-a-half months,I am glad to see the the judicial process being initiated. Shaileshs in-laws,Rajendra Chopra (68),Veena Chopra (65),were injured in the accident.
Im trying to get a copy of the chargesheet so that I know the intricacies of the case, he said.
The next date of hearing has been fixed on November 8.
