According to sources in the Human Resource Development ministry, one option could also be an “improvement exam”. However, officials are yet to come to a broader consensus on this option.

CBSE officials said there have been some changes in the paper pattern and that schools may not have been “intimated accordingly” in that regard.
A CBSE official said an evaluation committee will meet after the exams are over to take stock of the grievances of students and decide whether any grace marks could be awarded to them. It was also indicated that the question pattern framed was to ensure that there is rationalisation in the marking system.
