A 35-year-old woman employed in the accounts department of the Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters was found dead at her residence in Hari Nagar,West Delhi,the police said on Friday.
A suicide note has been found in which the deceased,Sarita,purportedly stated that she had some personal problem with a colleague. The note also mentioned some monetary problem with the colleague,an officer said.
The deceased worked as an upper division clerk at the CBI headquarters in CGO Complex,Lodhi Road.
A case has been registered under IPC Section 306 (abetment to suicide) against the CBI employee at Hari Nagar police station. The officer said the case is in very early stages,and the police cannot,at this point,reveal name of the CBI employee mentioned in the suicide note. The officer said Sarita was found dead on Wednesday,and the police sent it for postmortem on Friday morning after her husband Kishore Kumar,a civil engineer who works in Moscow,returned to the Capital.
According to the officer,Saritas father-in-law called the police on Wednesday,saying the woman was not opening the door of her room and that a foul smell was coming from it.
The room was bolted from inside we broke it open and her lying on the floor, the officer said. Sarita was declared dead on arrival at DDU Hospital; doctors there said she had consumed some poisonous substance.
Saritas in-laws have told the police that they had last seen her on Wednesday afternoon,and she seemed all right then.
The officer said the police are investigating the authenticity of the suicide note.
