The evening began with the latest AR Rahman chart-topper from Delhi-6 and Miller is glad that the Hindi film industry too is rediscovering Delhi in recent films. “One of the films that got me into discovering this wonderful city was Merchant-Ivory’s The Householder. The rooftop of the house where the movie was shot showcased a wonderful view of the city and,many years after the movie was made,I went around with my laptop trying to locate the house and I did,” said Miller,as he played a short clip from the movie. Taking advantage of an audio-visual setup,Miller spoke about many episodes from the book and showcased photographs from his several trips in and around the city. From his tourist-like trips to standard Delhi ports-of-call,the ancient monuments and ruins,to lesser known places of wonder,Miller photographed his several journeys in and out of the intestines of Delhi. “Some of my trips around town have left me puzzled. For example,there are two Gandhi museums and apparently,both possess Gandhiji’s watch,which stopped when he was assassinated. I wonder how that happened,” smiles Miller.
