Caller says CM’s life in danger,security up

The security cover for Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was increased after the Delhi Police received a threatening phone call on Thursday afternoon claiming her life was in danger for the next 72 hours.

The security cover for Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was increased after the Delhi Police received a threatening phone call on Thursday afternoon claiming her life was in danger for the next 72 hours. The case is being handled by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police.

Sources said the call was traced to a Garuda (MTNL) number: 011-20473876.

“The person on whose name the number is registered was detained by the police. He,however,claimed he had lost his phone long ago and had registered a complaint,” a source said.

Sources said the man was let off after interrogation.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Shibesh Singh said,“Nothing concrete can be said right now,but the culprit would be nabbed soon.” Singh said the caller had called the Delhi Police on 100.

Chief Minister Dikshit,meanwhile,said: “I do not have any fear. I am not worried.” A senior police official said the anonymous caller is yet to be traced. “We are trying to trace the caller,” he said. Sources added teams have been dispatched to various locations in the Capital.

Sources,however,said a woman was detained in connection with the case on Saturday. She was later let off after questioning.
