BTech student dies by suicide at Dwarka mall: Delhi Police

The Delhi Police said the alleged suicide happened at Vegas Mall in Dwarka's Sector 14 on November 17.

The force said Letby was interviewed “under caution,” meaning the interview was recorded and can be used in future prosecutions.

A 19-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at a mall in Dwarka on Sunday afternoon, said the Delhi Police.

The alleged suicide happened at Vegas Mall in Sector 14, according to the police. The deceased was a second-year BTech student who lived in a hostel, they added.

“He was shifted to the Venkateswara Hospital by Vegas security staff (after the suicide attempt). At the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead. CCTV footage from the mall shows the boy alone on the fourth floor. He kept roaming in the area for about 8 to 10 minutes…” said Ankit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka.

The police said the man’s father is an engineer with a known airline and posted in Jaipur. “The father was in Delhi to meet his son. As per the father, his son was in depression for the last three to four months,” added Singh.
