The bodies of a couple were found inside a tempo parked on the roadside in Outer Delhis Narela on Monday evening, police said.
According to police,a passer-by spotted the bodies inside the tempo parked on Mansa Devi road and made a PCR call around 6 pm on Monday. The bodies were of a 28-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, police said.
A passer-by said a foul smell was coming out of the vehicle. When he along with some others opened the boot, they found the bodies inside. It appears the woman was strangulated to death as there were injury marks on her neck. The mans body, however, did not have any visible injury mark. We have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are awaiting the reports, a police officer said.
Police said a man had gone missing from Samaypur Badli a few days ago. It was learnt that he had eloped with his brother-in-laws wife. We are verifying if the bodies found inside the tempo are of the same couple. We have called their families, the officer said.
Police have seized the tempo and are trying to trace the owner to obtain more leads. The registration number of the vehicle has been sent to the Transport authority to identify the owner, police said. Police are looking at it as a case of honour killing as it appears that the bodies were dumped inside the tempo.
