Hundreds of BJP workers staged a demonstration demanding the removal of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Hundreds of BJP workers staged a demonstration on Friday demanding the removal of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and bringing her in the ambit of the investigation into the alleged bunglings in the CWG spendings by the Delhi government.

The demonstrators, led by senior BJP leaders V K Malhotra,Vijay Goel and Vijendra Gupta, gathered near Jantar Mantar and tried to take out a procession to the Prime Minister’s residence but were prevented by the police.

Police used water cannons to stop the marching BJP workers and later over hundred of them were detained.

Earlier, addressing the gathering,Delhi BJP chief Gupta alleged “massive corruption” in all the CWG projects implemented by various Delhi government agencies and held Dikshit responsible for the irregularities.

“The Chief Minister must go to ensure a fair probe. The top officials, who were involved in the implementation of CWG projects must also be removed so that they cannot influence the probe,” Gupta said.
