Youths brave a sudden nip in the air with a bite of ice cream at the India Gate on Wednesday. While parts of Himachal and Uttarakhand hills received snowfall, light showers on Tuesday night — 4.7 mm in past 24 hours — saw the maximum temperature settling at 19.5 degrees Celsius, down seven notches from yesterday’s 26.6 degrees. It was four degrees below normal at this time of the year. The weatherman does not forecast any shower in the next few days but adjoining states might receive rain, snow and thunderstorms over the next two days. So,Delhiites might have to wait for a while before packing the woollens for good this winter — the warmest in the last 19 years.
