Two persons died and two children were seriously injured in an accident on Monday morning in Nihal Vihar when their bike was hit by a speeding truck.
According to the police,the truck driver fled from the spot and efforts are being made to trace him.
The incident happened at around 8.30 am on Monday when Mohammad Shakir (33),who lives in D block in Vikaspuri in West Delhi,was going to drop his two sons,Amjad (6) and Abdul (8) to school on his bike.
The boys study in government school in Vikaspuri. Shakir runs a puncture repair shop in the area. His employee Mohammad Tayyeb (20) was also with him. Four persons were riding on one bike including the children, said the police officer.
As they reached near Nazafgarh drain,the bike was hit by an overspeeding truck from behind. A passerby informed the police and all of them were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi hospital. Shakir and Tayyeb were declared brought dead at the hospital while the two kids have been referred to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital where their condition is said to be critical.
A senior police officer said,The road where accident took place is busy one. It was truck drivers mistake. He will be caught soon. A case of causing death by rash and negligent driving has been registered at Nihal Vihar police station.
