India may have seen its fair share of music festivals in the past three months, but there’s something special about Baajaa Gaajaa with its concentration on contemporary and classical music in India. A project that was initiated by the musician couple Shubha Mudgal and Aneesh Pradhan, the festival is set to roll out its fourth edition in Pune from February 10 to 12. With a strong emphasis on contemporary Indian and indie music, the festival this year will host an array of performers from different genres. In the segment ‘Song for Papa Rock’ on Day 1,groups Adil and Vasundhara from Delhi,Shillong’s Soulmate and Kolkata’s Pinknoise will perform a music that’s influencing the indie music scene at present. On Day 2,‘More Stories in A Song’ will blend music and theatre under direction from Sunil Shanbhag and have music compositions by Mudgal and Pradhan.

The festival will culminate with ‘Dhamaal’ that will showcase a drumming session whose look, feel and ambience has been designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi.
