The Congress on Tuesday hit at back at the BJP,which has promised to establish an accountability commission to probe allegations of corruption against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit if voted to power. During a press conference at Dikshits residence,Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said political parties were levelling baseless allegations against the Congress government. Reacting to the claim of setting up an accountability commission,Lovely said the BJP should go ahead with such a commission first for the three municipal corporations it controls. Why wait till you come to power? You have the means to start a commission to probe corruption allegations into the municipal corporations right now, he said.

BJP councillor gets notice for posters at Ramlila
The Delhi Election Office on Tuesday sent a notice to Rajesh Gehlot,a BJP councillor and the chairman of South Municipal Corporations Standing Committee,for using a platform of religious nature to further the electoral prospects of himself/his political party. The notice said Gehlot was also trying to gain possible mileage by prominently displaying his name and photographs at the Ramlila venue,which is in contravention of the model code of conduct prescribed by the Election Commission of India and other relevant instruction issued from time to time. The action was taken after Gehlots name and photographs were displayed in banners and posters at the Ramlila Ground in Sector-10,Dwarka. Gehlot has been asked by the Delhi EC to furnish his explanation within 24 hours from the receipt of this notice….
