MoD official,wife deaths: Cops await post-mortem report
NEW DELHI: A day after the bodies of Kumar Yashkar,Deputy Director at Directorate General of Medical Services in the Defence Ministry,and his wife Archana were found under mysterious circumstances at their Hudco Place residence,a post mortem was conducted and the bodies were handed over to the family. Police said they were waiting for the report. Nine experts from the Forensic Science Lab visited the spot.
One killed in fire at garment factory
NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured in a fire at a garment factory in Southwest Delhis Dabri area on Friday night. The woman,identified as Asha,and the two injured,Mahadev and Jaipal,were all employed at the factory. Police said an explosion in one of the boilers at the factory caused the fire.
DTC bus hits bike,one killed
NEW DELHI: One person was killed and another injured when a speeding DTC bus hit their motorcycle on Tughlaq Road on Friday night. Rishi Malik,a resident of Kalkaji,died on the spot,while Tanya,who was riding pillion,has been injured. The bus driver has been arrested. In another incident on Friday night,an allegedly inebriated youth was injured after his Skoda car crashed into a truck near the Akshardham Temple in East Delhi.
Man climbs tree outside PM house
NEW DELHI: A 33-year-old man,identified as Gopal,created a ruckus outside the Prime Ministers residence,after he climbed a tree and addressed passersby,asking them to save the cows. This lasted for over half an hour,before police and the Fire department brought him down. Gopal was detained along with five associates. Police said the men were initially sitting on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar. Gopal told police they are running a campaign to save the cows,and wanted to draw peoples attention towards the issue.
One killed in building collapse
NEW DELHI: One person was killed and three were injured when a four-storey building collapsed in Karol Bagh on Friday. While the deceased is yet to be identified,the injured are Laxman,Shribhan and Rajesh. They are said to be critical. Fire department officials said,Six fire engines were sent for rescue operations.
