Ghaziabad: Labourers working on the Ghaziabad-Vaishali Metro route,stopped work for over two hours and threatened to go on strike,after they got into an altercation with the authorities over their rest places and toilets being demolished. Mobile toilets were later provided.

Cross-voting: 4 MCG members suspended

Gurgaon: The BJP on Saturday suspended four elected councillors and one party official on the grounds of cross-voting in the recently concluded Gurgaon civic body elections. The elected councillors are Mangat Ram,Joginder Singh,Ravinder Yadav and Sunita Yadav. A senior official of the business cell Umesh Aggarwal was also suspended by the party for luring these councillors to vote for Congress supported candidates.

Two arrested for robbery

New Delhi: Two persons were arrested on Saturday from a village in Jharkhand for allegedly committing robbery at their employer’s house in Model Town,earlier this month. Police also recovered gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh,apart from Rs 2 lakh in cash and three mobiles phones. The accused had been employed at the complainant,Deepak Jain’s house about two months ago. Jain was in the US at the time of robbery
