New Delhi: A gang of robbers was busted on March 9 with the arrest of 4 Bangladeshi nationals by the Anand Vihar police. The arrest followed an increasing number of complaints of robberies and snatching incidents in the East Delhi locality. The accused have also been charged under the Foreigners Act,1946,for illegally immigrating to India.

249 illegal borewells sealed in Gurgaon

GURGAON: The Gurgaon administration,on Thursday,said it has sealed 249 illegal borewells in the area. The action was taken in compliance of a Punjab and Haryana High Court order,which banned drilling of new borewells in notified areas of the district. It also directed that the water from borewells can be used only for drinking and domestic purposes.

HC allows couple to separate after 39 years

New Delhi: Underlining the incompatibility between a couple despite being married for 39 years,the Delhi High Court has allowed them to part ways. Asking the former I-T clerk to pay an alimony of Rs 16 lakh to his wife,it said that the first instalment of Rs 10 lakh should be paid forthwith,while remaining amount later.

Student assaults teacher in govt school

New Delhi: A Class VIII student allegedly assaulted his teacher at a government-run school in Rohini on Wednesday. The incident took place after she allegedly caught him cheating during an internal examination,a school official said. No police complaint has been lodged,the official said.
