Fresh trial dates for ECA quota in Hindu College announced
New Delhi: Delhi University has announced dates for fresh trials of candidates,who had applied for admission to Hindu College under the extra-curricular activities quota. Preliminary trials will be held on September 28 and 29 at the University conference centre,and will be followed by the final round,to be held on September 30. The Delhi High Court had asked the University to conduct the trials after the college cancelled admissions in the ECA quota,citing complaints of irregularities.
Man held for drugging,abducting child
New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly kidnapping a child after drugging him in Southeast Delhi. He was arrested from Abul Fazl Enclave. Police said the accused is a habitual kidnapper. Three tablets,a yellow rubber ball and a bedsheet were recovered from him. The accused,Rehan,is a repeat offender. police added.
Provide computers to CWG accused: Court
NEW DELHI: Tihar Jail authorities were directed by a Delhi court on Thursday to provide computers to sacked Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi as well as seven others,arrested for alleged irregularities in a contract awarded to a Swiss firm. The court also asked the authorities to give separate logins and passwords to the accused persons. The programmer from Tihar Jail is present. He has assured the court that the authorities will provide separate computers to each of the accused,except for Anil Kumar Madan as he has chosen to receive the paper copy of the challan, Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh said.
