Special court sends man in judicial custody for power theft New Delhi: A special electricity court at Rohini has sent a power thief in judicial custody till October 3,2011 after denying him bail. The accused Dalip Chand was earlier apprehended by the enforcement team of North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL) in Shakurpur JJ colony for stealing electricity by illegally tapping in to the discoms power lines. A load of 4.2 KW was being used both for domestic purpose as well as for running a dhobi ghat. Man arrested for raping two minors New Delhi: A man was arrested on Monday from South Delhi for allegedly raping two minor sisters in 2009. The accused was declared a proclaimed offender in the gang rape case,police said. The accused,identified as Jitender,was arrested from Khanpur in South Delhi on Monday following an input. The girls,aged 14 and 8 were kidnapped from Ambedkar Nagar in May 2009 and raped by Jitender and his friends,police said. DTC to hold drive to check its operations New Delhi: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will launch a nine-day drive from Thursday to make its daily operations more commuter-friendly and punctual. A team of 141 senior officers and over 1,000 supervisory officials will be part of the special drive,which will check adherence of time schedule,violation of traffic rules by drivers,behaviour of the crew,frequency of the buses and cleanliness. The drive will also examine passenger load on various routes and recommend rationalisation of frequency depending on the feedback of the commuters. Placement firm owner accused of rape New Delhi: A 22-year-old woman alleged sexual assault by a placement agency owner on September 18 at Madanpur Khadar in Southeast Delhi,police said. The accused was arrested on September 20 after the victim lodged a case with the Sarita Vihar police station. The accused identified as Sunil Kumar,29,runs Neelam Placement service at Madanpur Khadar. The victim remained quiet for two days fearing social stigma till her mother came to take her to her native place.
