The Gurgaon police have booked a pub owner on molestation charges after a complaint filed by a woman on Sunday.

Gurgaon pub owner booked for ‘molestation’
GURGAON: The Gurgaon police have booked a pub owner on molestation charges after a complaint filed by a woman on Sunday. Rohini (name changed),a resident of DLF Phase II,told the police in the complaint that she had gone to Addiction,a pub in MGF Mall on MG Road,with her husband on Saturday night. The couple was having drinks when Raja Sardar,the owner,allegedly misbehaved with Rohini and manhandled her,the police said. When she resisted,the accused allegedly slapped her. The matter was reported to the DLF Phase III police station where a case was registered on Sunday. No arrests have been made so far.

Ghaziabad: Rape accused held
GHAZIABAD: Days after a 17-year-old girl was raped in Ghaziabad,the police arrested the accused,Narendra Singh. The panchayat of Saulana village had allegedly asked the victim to not register a case with the police and instead decided to punish Singh by hitting him with a shoe five times. Three persons have already been arrested in this regard. The police said Singh was absconding after the incident and was arrested from near the village while trying to contact his family.

Robbers arrested
NOIDA: The Noida police have arrested four persons who confessed to committing nine robberies in Delhi and Noida. The accused are residents of Sector-8 slum area. “They were arrested after an encounter with the police near Filmcity,” Ghaziabad SSP Ashok K Singh said. The police have recovered a car,Rs 2,000,13 mobile phones,some jewellery and a countrymade pistol with two live cartridges from them.

HC on noise pollution
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the Civil Aviation Secretary to convene a meeting of officials concerned to solve the problem of noise pollution being faced by residents of Vasant Kunj due to the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport’s third runway. Justice S Muralidhar directed the secretary to convene the meeting,including the petitioners,before April 5 and file a status report by May 18. Earlier this month,another Bench of the court had lifted the night curfew imposed on the third runway of the airport.

Flight crew ‘molested’,1 held
NEW DELHI: A passenger in an inebriated condition was arrested by the Indira Gandhi International Airport police on Monday for allegedly misbehaving with a female crew member of an Air India flight from Daman. An FIR was registered at the Palam Airport police station on a complaint lodged by the captain of flight AI 812,A S Guha,against a passenger Subhash Chandra. Guha said Chandra molested a crew member and misbehaved with the rest of the crew and even tried to forcibly enter the business class of the flight. The flight landed at the IGI Airport at 6.30 am,after which the passenger was arrested by the Delhi police.

Burglary in Shakarpur
NEW DELHI: Cash and jewellery worth lakhs were stolen from a house in Shakarpur,East Delhi,on Monday. According to the police,Liladhar Sharma,his sons Umakant Sharma and Prakash Chand and their wives Hema and Geeta live at the D-8/2 residence. Nobody was home at the time of the incident. Geeta,the police said,had given the house keys to a neighbour so that they could feed their pet fish. “The neighbours visited the house around 1.30 pm. At that time,everything was fine. Later,they found the house had been ransacked,” the police said. A case has been registered at the Shakarpur police station.
