NEW DELHI: Three aides of an alleged extortionist,who is currently serving time at Tihar Jail,were arrested for attempting to murder a woman over a squabble he had with her son. Police said the accused,Khalil,allegedly directed the three to kill the boys mother. The arrested persons have been identified as Akbar Khan (28),Aftab Khan (32) and Neeraj Gupta (33), said Additional Commissioner of Police (West) V Renganathan. The three allegedly shot Bimla (55) in Uttam Nagar on May 2. Khalil wanted revenge over an altercation he had with Bimlas son Ajay, said Renganathan.While Khalil is facing trial under MCOCA,Ajay has been serving time in jail since 2000 in a murder case.

2 inhale toxic gas while cleaning gutter,die

Gurgaon: Two labourers died after inhaling toxic gas while clean a gutter near Subhash Chowk on Sohna Road here on Wednesday. Police said the victims,Prakash (28) and Ram Milan (30),were taken out of the manhole in an unconscious condition. However,they died en route to the hospital,SHO Inder Jeet said,adding that the two were not wearing the mandated face masks.
