A 25-year-old biker died after he was run over by a Roadways bus on the GT Road in Northeast Delhi on Friday night,police said.

New Delhi: A 25-year-old biker died after he was run over by a Roadways bus on the GT Road in Northeast Delhi on Friday night,police said. “The victim has been identified as Bharat Kumar,a resident of East Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area. He was returning from Vivek Vihar when the accident occurred between 1 and 3 am,” said a senior police officer. Police said Kumar was pursuing an MBA from a private institute in Vivek Vihar. “Since there are no eyewitnesses,we have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving against the driver,who is absconding,” the officer added.

Fire at CNG filling station in Rohini

New Delhi: A minor fire was reported from a CNG filling station in Rohini,Outer Delhi,on Saturday evening. No casualties were reported,fire officials said. “The incident occurred at the CNG pump in Rohini’s Sector-24 at 5.55 pm. Eight fire tenders were rushed to douse the flames,” said a Delhi Fire Services official. The blaze was caused due to a short circuit,he added.

Awareness cycle rally by students

Gurgaon: As part of golden jubilee year celebrations,students of Sainik School Kunjpura (Karnal) are trying to spread the message to eradicate female foeticide and corruption,save water,plant more trees along with other social issues through a cycle rally. The rally was flagged off simultaneously from Narnaul and Sirsa on Saturday.The cycle rally will cover almost the entire state and culminate at the school on April 30.
