Unpaid,man threatens to jump off DTC tower
Upset over non-payment of salary,a 24-year-old sanitation worker climbed a light tower inside a DTC depot in Sarojini Nagar on Tuesday morning and threatened to jump off. Deepak,a resident of Netaji Nagar who works with a private company,works in the DTC depot which has given the contract for cleaning to the company. He claimed his employer had not given him salary,a senior police officer said.”The contractor later gave the dues to his wife after which Deepak agreed to climb down,” the officer added.

Woman attempts suicide at Metro station
A woman allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a Metro train at the Rajiv Chowk station on Tuesday evening. The woman,who is yet to be identified,was rescued as the driver applied emergency brakes and stopped the train in time. According to DMRC officials,the incident took place on Jahangirpuri-Central Secretariat metro corridor at around 6.30 pm. The woman was later handed over to the police and investigations are on as to why she took the step.
