Armyman’s wife says she was assaulted
Gurgaon: A 28-year-old woman and her four friends hailing from Manipur were allegedly assaulted by two men on Tuesday night in Sikanderpur village. The woman has also alleged that the men,who are locals of the village,also hurled racial comments. The victim is the wife of an Armyman posted at Lucknow. Activists with the Northeast Support Centre and Helpline alleged the Gurgaon police did not co-operate with them in nabbing the culprits. “I submitted a complaint with the DLF phase I police station,but they said they cannot register a case unless a preliminary probe is conducted.” The SHO at the DLF police station,however,said no such matter was reported at their police station.

Gang held for robbing auto passengers
The Crime Branch arrested four robbers on Tuesday who used to operate in auto-rickshaws and looted passengers after drugging them. The police also recovered articles worth Rs 1 lakh from their possession. The accused have been identified as Faiyaz (25),Abrar (22),Sabir (27) and Alam (27). The police said the gang used to travel in Faiyaz’s auto and looked for victims at bus stops and railway stations. “The gang offered the victims spiked drinks and robbed all valuables when the victim fell unconscious,” said Neeraj Thakur,ACP (Crime).

MCD blacklists firm for fake sting operation
The MCD on Monday blacklisted the security firm,Well Protect Man Power Services,for falsely implicating an MCD official on the basis of a fabricated CD. In a recent tender,the firm lost to a Punjab-based firm to provide security to the MCD. The firm then organised a sting on an MCD official involved with the tender process. Based on the CD of the sting,the official was suspended. Later investigations revealed the CD was fabricated.
