Ghaziabad: Unidentified assailants allegedly burgled a house in Ghaziabad and killed its security guard,the police said on Saturday.
According to the police,Aslam,55,was found dead on Saturday morning at the residence of one Rakesh Yadav. Yadav had gone out of the country with his family a few days ago,the police said. Details of the missing goods are yet to be ascertained. In a separate incident,unidentified men allegedly burgled the house of an industrialist in Rajendra Nagar and took away Rs 4 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh,the police said.This is the fourth case of robbery in the area this week,said a police officer.

Three houses burgled in W Delhi
NEW DELHI: Burglaries were reported from three neighbouring houses in West Delhi on Saturday morning. The police said the residents of the houses were sleeping inside when the incident took place. According to the police,burglaries were reported from Kirti Nagar’s house numbers 27,28 and 31,and grills were found damaged at house numbers 30 and 29. A case has been registered.

 

Minor girl rescued from GB Road
NEW DELHI: A 17-year-old girl who was brought to the Capital with the promise of a job and forced into prostitution,was rescued from GB Road on Saturday afternoon. Police officials said the girl had been missing from Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh,and was rescued after the police received information that she was being held at Kothi number 14 on GB Road.

BJP to protest govt decision on tariff
NEW DELHI: The BJP on Saturday announced an agitation in Delhi from next week against the government’s alleged interference in the functioning of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission which has suggested power tariff cut despite discoms’ resistance. “DERC is an autonomous body but the state government is trying to curb its powers to fix the tariff rate,” BJP Delhi president Vijender Gupta said.
