Building collapses,five trapped
An under construction building collapsed in Outer Delhi trapping around five laborers inside. Police and rescue officials said laborers were painting the four-storey building. The police said the building,located in Rohini’s Sector-4,behind Ambedkar Hospital,collapsed around 8.30 pm on Sunday. No deaths were reported in the incident.
Two held for over 200 vehicle thefts
An engineer and a Zoology graduate from Manipur were arrested for allegedly being involved in over 200 cases of vehicle theft and 18 high-end cars were recovered from them,the police said on Sunday. The two have been identified as N Reagan,28,and W Kanan Kumar,37,both from East Imphal,Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Singh said.
DSIIDC order for construction
Delhi governments infrastructure development agency DSIIDC on Sunday said if allottees,given plots for setting up factories in industrial estates in the Capital,fail to complete construction within next six months they will stand to lose the land. The government had allotted 22,749 plots between 1999 and 2006 to facilitate relocation of industries from residential areas to conforming zones,but no construction has taken place on 8,123 plots. All allottees may deposit the penalties for delayed construction latest by October 31, an official said.
Engineering exam conducted
The ninth All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) was conducted by the CBSE on Sunday across India and abroad. A total of 11.3 lakh candidates had registered for the examination. There were a 1,623 across the country in 86 cities including two centers in Dubai and Riyadh.
