Unidentified thieves burgled the residences of a retired Wing Commander and a Chartered Accountant in South Delhi and decamped with their licensed pistols along with cash and jewellery,the police said on Wednesday.

Unidentified thieves burgled the residences of a retired Wing Commander and a Chartered Accountant in South Delhi and decamped with their licensed pistols along with cash and jewellery,the police said on Wednesday. In the first incident,thieves struck the house of retired Wing Commander Jagdish Kumar (74) in Hauz Khas on February 19 when he was at a tennis club in Dhaula Kuan. When Kumar returned home at SFS Apartments,he found the house ransacked. A .38-bore pistol of Oliver Johnson brand was stolen from the house along with cash and jewellery,the police said.

On February 22,a pistol was stolen from Vasant Kunj house of Chartered Accountant K K Soni (73). Besides a .32-bore pistol of German make,cash and jewellery were also stolen.

Lawyer dies in courtroom
A lawyer died of a massive heart attack while he was at a city court. Ram Lakhan Tripathi,50,had come to appear in a case before a sessions judge at Patiala House courts when he suffered a heart attack in the courtroom. He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital around 11.45 am but was declared brought dead.
