Vigilance panel eye on Games
The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is examining all construction work related to Commonwealth Games following complaints alleging largescale corruption. Sources said the CVC has asked all its officials posted with agencies concerned to “double check” the procedures involved in the procurement and other aspects of various projects. “We have received several complaints regarding alleged corruption in Games projects. As a preventive measure,we have directed all our Chief Vigilance Officers in all departments to be cautious and ensure transparency,” a CVC official said.

Police jeep damaged
Protesters damaged a police jeep and two auto-rickshaws near Jantar Mantar on Tuesday after a girl from their group was hit by a motorcycle earlier in the day. The police resorted to lathicharge to control the crowd,sources said.
