Perfetti godown in Manesar catches fire
Manesar: A major fire broke out at the Perfetti godown located on NH-8 in Manesar on Friday night. It took almost 10 hours for 18 fire tenders with each re-filling up to six times to douse the flames in the three-storeyed building,said Gurgaon fire officials. According to district fire official Hanuman Sihag,the godown had goods like candies,plastic wrappers,etc,which instantaneously caught fire. He added that the building had developed cracks and it was likely that it could collapse. No deaths or casualties have been reported so far,the fire officials said.

Nursing student commits suicide
NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old nursing student at Lady Hardinge Medical College,Mercedez Khomdram,committed suicide by hanging herself with a chunni on Saturday. The deceased,a native of Manipur,reportedly committed suicide because she had a fight with her boyfriend,the police said. The girl left a suicide note in which she claimed she was responsible for her death and “she was committing suicide because she could not live without him (her boyfriend)”,officials added.

Priest shot dead,two hurt
Gurgaon: One person was killed and two others injured in a late night shootout in Naharpur Rupa on Friday. The victim,Mukesh Bharadwaj,worked as a priest at an under-construction temple here. Around 10 pm bike-borne criminals opened fire on Bharadwaj,mistaking him for the temple owner Darshan,the police said. The police said,Darshan had deposed against one Kaushal (of the Kaushal gang) who is at present lodged at the Bhondsi jail here. A case of murder has been registered. Injured were identified as Kanta,Darshan’s mother and Shiv Kant,another priest at the temple.
