The police have identified the arrested as Naresh, they said.
An advocate, identified as Virender Singh, was shot dead by two bike-borne men on April 1 near Sector 1, allegedly as the fallout of a property dispute.
After mounting technical surveillance, the police had earlier arrested Pradeep Kumar, 39, from Bhalgarh in Sonepat, Haryana.
According to DCP of Dwarka Harsh Vardhan, it was revealed that the accused persons’ families had a dispute with the advocate over a property and many civil suits were pending in different courts in this regard.
“In 2017, one of the accused Pradeep along with his cousin had attempted to kill advocate Virendra but the advocate escaped the attack. Again, he ganged up with another person Naresh to murder Virendra and started tracing his route from his house. On April 1, the two men fired indiscriminately on the lawyer near Dwarka sector 1 red light and fled the spot,” Harsh Vardhan said.
On April 16, the police laid a trap to arrest Naresh based on a tip-off that he was present at Jharoda village in Najafgarh, the police said.
