4-year-old raped by father

A four-year-old girl landed in hospital in a critical state after she was allegedly raped by her father on Saturday. It was probably the first time she had met her father as the accused had come to their Seemapuri home in Northeast Delhi only on Saturday,almost four years after he had left for Ahmedabad,the police said. While the accused,Salim (35),has been arrested,the victim is in a state of shock and being given psychiatric treatment too.

Salim worked in a meat shop in Ahmedabad after separating from his family four years ago because he suspected that his wife had an affair with another man,the police said.

“Salim’s wife said he contacted her last month and apologised. After much persuasion,she finally allowed him to meet her. Salim reached Delhi on Saturday. The same evening,he came home in an inebriated condition and found that his wife had not returned from work. He raped his youngest daughter. The eldest,an eight-year-old,caught him in the act and informed her mother when she returned,” said an officer. The couple has four daughters.

A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s mother who works as a domestic help.
