14-year-old missing for a week,probe on

Around 6 am on July 21,14-year-old Mohit Chaudhary asked his mother for Rs 1,000 saying he wanted to go out with his friends after school.

Around 6 am on July 21,14-year-old Mohit Chaudhary asked his mother for Rs 1,000 saying he wanted to go out with his friends after school. She gave him the money and he soon left for his school.

The student of Class VIII has not returned home since and a case of kidnapping has been registered at the Nizamuddin police station.

“My son usually gets home by 3.15 pm,but that day he never returned. I called up the school who informed me that Mohit hadn’t reported to school that day. We searched everywhere,asked all relatives and friends,but to no avail,” said Ashok Chaudhary,Mohit’s father.

Chaudhary is a realtor. In his complaint,he said he had come to know that three of his son’s friends had accompanied him.

“When I called them up,they told me that on July 21 they all boarded an auto-rickshaw and dropped Mohit off at Bhogal,” said Chaudhary,a resident of Masjid area in Bhogal,in his complaint.

The three children were questioned,police said. They told the police that they had asked Mohit to go home,but he had asked them to drop him off in Bhogal and leave.

“We have despatched teams and investigations are underway. There is a possibility that the child could be in the wrong hands. We are trying our level best to locate him,” said a senior police officer.
