Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday formally ordered a magisterial probe to be conducted into the death of a Karan Pandey,who was shot dead by a police Inspector on July 28. The move comes a day after Newsline reported that the Delhi government was yet to launch a magisterial inquiry for want of a formal order to look in to the death of the 19-year-old,who was shot by the Inspector Rajnish Parmar while he was reportedly trying to stop a group of stunt bikers. The L-G is pleased to order a magisterial inquiry to be conducted by District Magistrate (New Delhi) Ameya Abhyankar, the order,dated August 6,said. Divisional Commissioner Dharam Pal said the orders were received by his office on Wednesday.
