DDA complex gym manager arrested for rape

A 24-year-old gym trainer was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted twice in one week by the gym manager at the SAB Fitness Centre in DDA Sports Complex at Dwarka’s Sector-11,police said.

A 24-year-old gym trainer was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted twice in one week by the gym manager at the SAB Fitness Centre in DDA Sports Complex at Dwarka’s Sector-11,police said.

In her police complaint the victim said she was also molested by another trainer at the gym.

She has accused manager Ajay Pratap of raping her on June 19 and 24,and trainer Rakesh of molesting her on June 25. The accused were arrested on Sunday.

The woman,a resident of Mangolpuri,had joined the gym on June 15,where she was introduced to Pratap. In her statement to police,she alleged that she reached the gym at 7.30 am on June 19. She said she had a headache so she decided to rest at the reception,where she was approached by Pratap.

“She told him she had a headache and he gave her a white substance,which the victim alleged aggravated the pain. She then went into the changing room. Pratap followed her there and sexually assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences,” said a senior police officer.

She has told the police that she chose to stay quiet about the incident as she was scared. She returned to the gym the next day.

She alleged that on June 24 Pratap raped her again and repeated the threats.

Police said the next day,when she was leaving the gym complex,Rakesh molested her.

The woman is going through a divorce,and is engaged to another man for a second marriage.

She told police that she then confided in her mother and fiance.

“They confronted the accused and an argument ensued,during which the accused attacked her fiance with a stone injuring him on his head. A medical examination confirmed rape,” said the officer.

The accused have been sent in judicial custody and a case has been registered at the Dwarka-South police station,said A K Ojha,DCP (Southwest).

Victim and the accused have been asked to leave their jobs.

Pratap’s colleagues,meanwhile,have expressed anger over his arrest. “All facts should be verified before any action is taken against him,” they said.
