IED blasts carried out by one Dominic Martin killed three and injured scores of others during a prayer congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses – a Christian group – in the southern state Sunday.
While interacting with reporters in Tamil Nadu’s Ramanathapuram district, Radhakrishnan, who is also a former BJP MP, said, “Nobody believes that a Christian was behind the explosion at a prayer meeting of his own religion.”
“Both Tamil Nadu and Kerala, at various stages, have faced terror activities of Islamic terrorists and lost many lives. Unfortunately, both governments (in Kerala and Tamil Nadu) believe that supporting terrorists amounts to supporting Muslims. Since both the CPI(M)-led government in Kerala and the Stalin-led DMK government in Tamil Nadu support those planting bombs and committing murders, we are unable to eradicate this violence,” he added.
Further, the Jharkhand Governor urged the Kerala government to identify ‘true culprits’ or deploy the National Investigation Agency to conduct an inquiry.
When asked whether there is a chance for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contest from Ramanathapuram constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Radhakrishnan said only BJP leaders can answer that question and a Governor cannot comment on it.
Radhakrishnan was elected to the Lok Sabha twice on a BJP ticket from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999.
