Six candidates,including INLDs Yograj Singh and Congress nominee D K Bansal,filed their nomination papers from Panchkula constituency for the Haryana Assembly polls scheduled to be held on October 13. Others who filed their papers include Chand Goyal of the CPM party,Kamal Kumar of the Nationalist Congress Party and Ram Niwas of the Samajwadi Party.
Congress rebel Raj Kumar,who the is secretary of the Aggarwal Sabha and was an aspirant for the party ticket,filed papers as an Independent.
While local INLD leaders were present in full strength when Yograj filed his papers at the SDM office in Sector 1,many Congress leaders were conspicuous by their absence in the rally held by party nominee Bansal.
As the two main candidates held rallies in the city before proceeding to the SDM office,the police had a tough time managing the crowd.
