In a world of copycats,in walks an original, and this ones actually different – and it has one of our favourite stars,Rishi Kapoor, who by the way,is all set to play Chintu Kapoor in a hilarious satire,Chintuji. An announcement to this effect has been made by Next Gen Films and Kaleidoscope Entertainment. Starring Rishi,Priyanshu Chatterjee and citys very own Kulraj Randhawa, the films a humorous take on actors becoming politicians. See,we told ya its different!
Set in a small hamlet called Hadbahedi,Chintuji has been produced by Bobby Bedi and written and directed by Ranjit Kapoor, the same guy who wrote the memorable dialogues of cult comedy Jane Bhi Do Yaaron. The film takes the fun route with me playing a reel life brat portraying all the real life idiosyncrasies, laughs Rishi, adding how this is one of the closest roles to him. Im thrilled with this role as this is the first time Ive portrayed a character this close to my real personality. I had a ball playing this role and it occupies a very special place in my heart. Despite being an uproarious comedy, the film still manages to remain meaningful and beautifully brings out the satire and emotions. Its a superb blend of fiction and reality, just like my father,Raj Kapoors favourite song – aadhi haqeeqat, aadha fasana. The film also stars Grusha Kapoor and Sourabh Shukla with a special performance by Sophie Choudhary, and will release on September 4.
