Artist Anjan Coomar explores the dichotomies of life through an exhibition at the Art Folio,where 13 of his works— mixed media on canvas—are on display.

“I have tried to present before viewers,the essence of spiritual consciousness embedded in the subconscious mind,” he says. The ordinary everyday life,with its potent awareness of death is contrasted to the need for love,truth and freedom of the soul. Earthy reds,browns and dull greens dominate the palette. “There’s a serenity in the canvases that is captivating,” says artist Anjana Ghosh,who was visiting the exhibition.

The exhibition is on at Art Folio,Sector 9 till March 9. Timings: 11am to 7 pm.
