Winning Act

It’s one of the most prolific youth dramatics clubs in the city. Proving their mettle once again,Aaghaaz,DAV College’s dramatics club,gave a much-lauded performance that won them the trophy at the Mood Indigo Fest,Asia’s biggest youth festival held at IIT-Mumbai last month. Their one-act play won them the first position,competing with 62 other plays. The team was awarded a trophy with a cash prize of Rs 18,000. The team also won the Best Outstation Contingent Trophy and a Karaoke competition,where over 600 colleges from all over the country participated. Arshad Iqbal won the Best Actor award and a one-month training session at the Anupam Kher Acting School. The college skit team won Panjab University Zonal and Inter Zonal Youth Festival and also won North Zone Intervarsity Youth Festival. The team will be competing in the All India Intervarsity Youth festival scheduled to be held at Nagpur from January 22 to 26. The college’s one-act play team is also preparing for the Open Nationals Competition,which will be held in Mangalore this month. The alumni of this club include popular television anchor Ayushman Khurana and some other familiar television actors.
