‘We no longer have any association with Anmol Bishnoi’: fresh audio shows rift between Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar

“Central intelligence agencies received information that Brar and Godara did not help Anmol file the required bail bond. Anmol was later released but with an ankle bracelet tracker,” a source said.

Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother was arrested by US immigration authorities in November last year for allegedly travelling with fake documents.

The latest clip, purportedly released by Goldy Brar and going viral on social media, further suggests the two are no longer on the same page, despite having previously claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The Punjab Police said they are looking into the audio’s authenticity. “Goldy Brar is booked in several terror-related cases. We are examining the audio. But it won’t matter what he says. Law will take its own course,” said a Punjab Police officer.

‘Misinformation is being spread on social media’

In the 2-minute 40-second audio, Goldy Brar is allegedly heard claiming responsibility for a June 17 shooting incident in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. The target, Ashish Gupta, was shot in the leg.

“The attack on Ashish Gupta in Ganganagar was planned by me and Rohit Godara. He was not meant to be killed — only taught a lesson. That’s why we shot him in the leg. If he doesn’t understand this time, next time he’ll be shot in the head. No issue,” Brar can be heard saying.

Brar also claims that ‘misinformation’ is being spread on social media, where the attack was allegedly claimed in the name of Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother. “We no longer have any association with Anmol Bishnoi. All our brothers have been clearly informed about this,” Brar says.

‘Never acted against the nation’

Goldy Brar also denies allegations of having any links with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s intelligence agency. “I urge the media and administration to confirm facts before labelling someone a patriot or a traitor. We have never acted against the nation,” he can be heard saying in the clip.

Lawrence Bishnoi had made similar claims in an interview aired just before Sidhu Moosewala’s first death anniversary in March 2023. “I am not anti-national. I am a nationalist. I am against Khalistan. I am against Pakistan,” Bishnoi had said.

Location unknown

While Goldy Brar’s current location remains unclear, security agencies say he fled to the US after Moosewala’s murder, even as some reports claimed he could be in Canada.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann once claimed that Brar had been arrested in the US, but no official confirmation followed.

In September 2022, the Centre and Punjab authorities claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, had been detained in Kenya. However, in April 2023, videos surfaced on social media showing Anmol dancing at a wedding event in the US, raising suspicions that Brar had arranged shelter for him.

In November 2024, again, there were unconfirmed reports that Anmol Bishnoi was arrested for illegal stay in the US.

So far, neither the US nor Canadian authorities have made any official statement on Goldy Brar.

The apparent fallout between Brar and the Bishnoi, combined with the denial of ISI links, has added a new dimension to the ongoing gang conflict.
