TENSION gripped Kaki Pind (village) and Ramamandi area in Jalandhar Saturday after a group of people belonging to the Ravidassia community reportedly kept their religious book, ‘Amritbani’, at the same place where Guru Granth Sahib (religious book of Sikhs) was kept.

The Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur Highway was blocked for a brief time by people belonging to the two groups.

The situation was soon brought under control.

Members of the Ravidassia community said all their religious activities start with the Amritbani Granth and there was no harm if they keep it in the same place as Guru Granth Sahib.

However, a group of Sikhs were not convinced and assembled near the spot to protest.
