While we are yet to be treated to the teasers,news is that Yash Raj Films’ Dil Bole Hadippa has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2009 and will be presented in the prestigious Gala Presentations section of the festival as a world premiere. Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Anurag Singh,the film stars Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerjee and is slated to release worldwide on September 18. A take on Hollywood’s ‘She’s the Man’,Dil Bole zooms in on a village where girls are not allowed to play cricket. So,Veera (Rani Mukerjee) dons a turban and puts a false beard to fulfill her dreams. Her brilliance on the field earns her a place in Rohan’s (Shahid Kapoor) team and Veera Kaur becomes Veer Pratap Singh. The film’s a rollercoaster journey of Veera,Rohan and Veer through Punjab and beyond. The movie’s cast and crew will grace the red carpet and attend the first public screening anywhere in the world of the film,on September 13,2009 in Toronto, Canada. TIFF is among the top film festivals in the world and it’s a publicly-attended film festival wherein nearly 400 films are screened at approximately 23 screens in venues across Toronto. The annual attendance at TIFF exceeds 300,000 from public and industry audiences.

Daddy’s Day Out
From the makers of comedy capers like Masti and Dhamaal,the duo Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar,will hit the theatres with yet another laugh riot ‘Daddy Cool’. A co-production between Big Pictures and Maruti Pictures,‘Daddy Cool’ will release on August 28,2009 worldwide. Directed by K. Murli Mohan Rao,the film zooms in on one Douglas Lazarus’s funeral,and the eccentricities that take place on that day. Chaos rules as mourners are struck by innumerable outrageous calamities like delivery of wrong corpse in the coffin,hallucinogenic drugs,secret romance,pesky in-laws and a scandalous secret. The fun-eral stars Sunil Shetty,Aftab Shivdasani,Javed Jaffrey,Aarti Chhabria,Ashish Chowdhry,Tulip Joshi,Kim Sharma,Sophie Choudry,Rajpal Yadav,Chunky Pandey & Prem Chopra. Raghav Sachar has composed music for the film.

Sister Act
This is for real. First,the story,and then the act. In a horror flick which will go on floors on August 12,Udita Goswami and Tanushree Dutta are coming together as sisters. Based on a true story,the film Rokkk is a super natural thriller. Presented by Ikkon Films and produced by Krishan Chaudhery,Sumeet Saigal and Vipin Jain,it’s being directed by Rajesh Ranshinge who has made thrillers for television like Sssh Koi Hai,Aahat and CID. Says Tanushree,“Every actor wishes to do different roles and showcase their potential to the best. I have always been was open to doing different roles and this fell into my lap. Horror was on my list as I love the genre and am highly fascinated by all that’s ghostly!” Actor turned producer Sumeet Saigal comments,“It is a supernatural thriller and is based on a real-life incident of someone who is no more. Tanushree and Udita play the protagonists.” The film will be shot entirely on a set and not on real locations. The other actors include Shaad Randhawa,Sachin Khedekar,Ashwini Kalasekar,Murli Sharma and Arif Zakaria.
