The body of an unidentified man in his late twenties was found under a bridge near the Holy Child School in Morni on Sunday. According to the police,the man died owing to head injuries inflicted with a blunt weapon.
A case of murder has been registered and the body has been sent for a post-mortem. No identification proof was found to prove his identity, said DSP Varinder Singh. The police suspect the murder stems from an attempt to rob. The deceaseds purse and belonging are missing, he added. The particulars and a photograph of the deceased have been dispatched to all police stations for identification.
Body found outside PGI
CHANDIGARH: The police have recovered the body of an unidentified man,aged between 25 and 30,outside the PGI late on Saturday night. The man is suspected to have died owing to excessive intake of liquor. According to the police,the man had been lying outside the hospital since afternoon. Upon reaching the spot,we found him dead and have sent the body for a postmortem. There was no identification proof in the deceaseds pocket, said Station House Officer of the Sector 11 police station Inspector Sukhbir Rana. Ruling out foul play,the police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
