UHBVNL robbery: Cops release suspects sketches

A day after Rs 78,000 was looted from an employee of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vittaran Nigam Limited,the police released the sketches of suspects on Friday.

Security is also being enhanced in the tricity. Barricades would be set up near Ramgarh and other places for round-the-clock patrolling,said a senior officer.

The department has,meanwhile,asked the private agency,which outsources its bill collection,to enhance security. It was only last year when the same departments employees had been robbed of Rs 21 lakh.

We agree there is laxity on part of the department as well as the private agency. We had told them to carry arms or use four wheelers during transactions. This time,we will be strict with the implementation of such measures and no leeway will be given to them, said A K Jain,director,operations,UHBVNL.
