Two persons have died in separate mishaps in Kharar in the last 24 hours. In the first incident,a migrant labourer,Muzaffar,in his late 20s,died when construction material fell on him at an under-construction building. The incident took place in Sahoran village on Saturday afternoon,the police said. By the time the victim was pulled out of the debris,he had reportedly died. His brother,Masin,sustained injuries in the mishap.
In the second incident,a 40-year-old man was mowed down by a speeding car on the Kharar-Ludhiana stretch of National Highway-95 on Friday night. The accident took place near Mankheri village. The victim,Gurmeet Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib,was returning home from Mohali on his motorcycle,the police said. The victim was rushed to GMCH-32,where he was declared dead on arrival. A case has been registered.
