Trunk Full of Love

It’s hard to miss the mushy promotions doing the rounds in the city now that Valentine’s Day is less than a week away. For some,splurging on the occasion is a done thing but choosing the right gift can be an arduous task. Offering help,even for those on a budget,is the multi-designer store,Soh-Koh in Sector 26,that has rolled out a Valentine Trunk Show. The store has various apparel and accessory labels presenting their V-Day creations.

The potpourri collection,up for sale till February 14,brings in imitation jewellery by designer Pooja Motwani,alongside funky accessories like charm bracelets,earrings and neckpieces by Barohk from Kolkata. We liked the butterfly collection,particularly the one that’s priced at Rs 1,000 onwards. Mumbai-based designer label Kosh has sent in vibrant digital print saris that will work well for those who don’t like unnecessary bling. Another Kolkata-based accessory designer,Gauri,has presented her line-up of clutches,belts and other fashion accessories. Adding to the mix are shoes for women ranging from high heels to flats and wedges under the label Swatimodo by shoe designer Swati Mehrotra. Even if you are not looking for a lovey-dovey reason to shop for footwear,Mehrotra’s collection is worth a look. The designs are fun — polka dot booties,platforms made out of canvas print fabric and coloured flip-flops. The best part is that sizes aren’t an issue. “We have up to Size 11 for women,something not easily available in the city,” mentioned Arshi Gupta,co-owner of Soh-Koh as she added,“We are also running a contest for those who shop from the Valentine trunk show collection. A lucky winner will be chosen on February 13,who will get a customised pair of shoes from Swati Mehrotra.”
