A 19-year-old boy slapped a teacher in a government school,right in front of her class on Wednesday.

A 19-year-old boy slapped a teacher in a government school,right in front of her class on Wednesday. The incident comes within a fortnight of a similar incident at one of the government schools; only this time,the student was an outsider.

Manu Rani,a TGT (trained graduate teacher) of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Karsan,was about to enter Class IX on the second floor around half past 12 when she noticed two boys standing in the corridor outside the classroom. As they were not students of the school,she asked them why they were there. This led to an altercation,and one of the boys slapped Manu. When she raised an alarm,both the boys took to their heels.

Later,when school authorities inquired about the boys,they found that the two had scaled the five feet tall boundary wall and entered the school premises. The boy was identified as Ravi (19) by some of the school students,who said they see him often in the school as his younger sister is a student here.

Meanwhile,the teacher lodged an FIR with the Sector-31 police station against the minor. Though I have filed an FIR,I am also waiting for the Administration’s action in this matter, said Manu Rani. Deputy District Education Officer Ram Kumar visited the school to inquire about the matter,but no probe was initiated since the teacher has already lodged an FIR.

We are waiting for the medical report of the teacher from the GMSH-16. Further action would be taken on the basis of it, said Sector-31 SHO Bakshish Singh.

Earlier on July 16,there was another incident where a student of Government Senior Secondary School,Kaimbwala had slapped his teacher in retaliation after the latter had slapped him. On the basis of a probe report,the Education department dismissed the teacher and expelled the student.
