Research in Motion (RIM),the manufacturers of Blackberry handsets,have decided to launch Blackberry phones in India which will not be locked to any specific telecom operator. Till now in India Blackberry phones were available through private telecom operators such as Reliance,Vodafone and Airtel but now the availability of Blackberry handsets has been increased. Blackberry has announced a partnership with Redmond India. RIM also plans to supplement this launch by announcing new India-centric applications for its phones and by also possibly cutting the prices of the handsets.
