Team Anna has lost moral ground, says Bansal

Union Minister for Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Pawan Kumar Bansal on Wednesday said Team Anna’s anti-Congress campaign for the Hisar bypolls have made them lose “all moral grounds”.

Union Minister for Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Pawan Kumar Bansal on Wednesday said Team Anna’s anti-Congress campaign for the Hisar bypolls have made them lose “all moral grounds”.

“By spreading such messages (referring to requests made by Team Anna for not voting for Congress candidate),they have lost all moral grounds. It clearly shows that it is the workmanship of a political force behind the propaganda,” Bansal told The Indian Express.

“If not the Congress candidate, then who do Team Anna suggests to people for a vote?” he said, adding the Congress has nothing to fear as far as the outcome of Hisar bypolls is concerned.

He,however, appreciated Anna’s call that people of Hisar should also consider not exercising their voting right at all.

“Personally,I am in favour of that. In fact, the same is also under consideration for the election reforms that the Centre is working at. I feel that there should be an option on the EVMs which says ‘none of the above’ and let a mandate be that there was no candidate fit for winning in a given constituency.”

Earlier,Congress had on Tuesday claimed that Arvind Kejriwal, one of the key aides of Anna Hazare’s campaign against corruption, has been nursing political ambition in the shadow of the social activist.

“Kejriwal hails from Hisar and is using Anna Hazare to launch his political platform,” All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said.
