A fine knock of 46 runs played by E Szwarczynski guided Netherlands to a comfortable four-wicket qwin over Blue Star Crciket Club in a twenty-20 match played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium,Sector 3 on Thursday. Batting first,Blue Star Cricket Club posted a total of 133 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Mandeep Singh was the highest scorer for the team as he played a knock of 69 runs off 50 balls.
He smashed seven boundaries and three towering sixes. Hari Kishan Kali was the next highest scorer for the team as he played a knock of 18 runs while Amit Uniyal scored 12 runs. For Netherlands,M Jonkman claimed one wicket for 16 runs while M Bhukhari claimed one wicket for 24 runs. Five Blue Star batsmen were run-out during their innings.
In reply,Netherlands reached the required target of for the loss of six wickets in 19.1 overs. Opener E Szwarczynski was the hero of the day for the Dutch side as he played a knock of 46 runs while P Borren made 17 runs. For the losing side,Hari Kishan claimed two wickets for 18 runs while Ankush Handa claimed two wickets for 21 runs.

Ball badminton trials on Dec 6
The Ball Badminton Sports Promotion Association,Chandigarh will conduct the trials to select the Chandigarh teams (Men and women) for participation in the 55th Senior National Ball Badminton Championship which will be held at Kattpa (Andhra Pradesh) from January 9 to January 12,2010.
The trials will be held on December 6 at Sri Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School,Sector 35 at 11 am. Players are required to contact Naresh Kumar on 9814181081.
Netball meet from today
Chandigarh North District Netball Association will organise the Chandigarh Junior State Netball Championship for Under-19 Boys and Girls for IInd Kailash Bahl Memorial Netball Trophy at KB DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 7,on December 5 and 6.
All the players should report for the matches at 8.30 am in the school premises on December 5. Players born on or after 24.12.1990 are eligible to participate in this championship. The players will then be selected for the 27th Junior National Netball Championship to be held at Nasik,Maharashtra,from December 20 to 24.
